Another amazing evening, even though there were only a few of us. Nicci was back in full spirits, and her and Bex ran that kitchen like a well-oiled machine. The meditation was lead by Diego, always special, thank you. 🙏 Once again, our volunteers on the floor were superstars. Very good! ❤️

This Wednesday, we had a special visitor, Clint, from @uturnsa in Salt River. Inspiring our guests to pop by and change their lives like he did his. Thank you, Clint!

Hearts were opened, and all the tummy’s were filled. Our kitchen Angels work their magic once again. And of course, good conversations all round. We had to be swept out the door once again. Don’t worry, there’s next week!

Today, Tracy popped to Salt River to see what the new U-Turn course is all about. Clint and Vuyo welcomed her, and she was invited to join the group. For the next hour, she listened and learned from both Vuyo and the guests, who gave important life lessons and heartfelt stories. So lucky! They are definitely changing lives.

On October 10, 2023, people around the world will observe World Homeless Day, while working to prevent and end homelessness and alleviate the suffering of those experiencing it.

World Homeless Day Is Observed Internationally On The 10th Of October, Every Year.

Purpose:

This international day serves as a platform to advocate for improved policies and funding that can help prevent and end homelessness.

World Homeless Day also aims to raise awareness about the needs of people who currently experience homelessness and promote work in local communities to alleviate suffering and prevent death.

Inspired by last week's impromptu 🎤 sharing at our 6 year celebration, I feel an open mic and permission to get creative and share a song, poem, a story, a memory is what needs to happen as we honour Kimon. 1 year on. She'd be 200% on board with this! And expect nothing less than an AMAZING EVENT!

One year ago we got the green light from Father Ti

One year ago we got the green light from Father Timothy & the St.Michael's parish council to go back to our sit-down in the hall. We are so grateful for the original invitation in 2017 from Father Antony to start a sit-down meal in the available space from January 2018 until March 2020.

The first week of September last year we celebrated 5 years by getting back to the hall.

Next week, we celebrate 6 years.

How? I actually don't know as our amazing "party" team is collaborating behind the scenes with fun and love - because more than anything I believe it's an honouring of these very special, committed individuals together keeping our pasta kitchen going for another year.
